AUBURN, NY - The Spikes dropped their second straight to the Auburn Doubledays at Falcon Park, as a fatal four-run fourth inning did in State College as they fell 9-3 on Friday evening.
State College jumped out to a 3-0 lead as Andrew Walker's first professional triple scored Justin Byler in the third inning, and in the fourth, John Fitzpatrick, who finished the night 3-for-4 with three doubles, hit his second double of the night, which was followed up by a Matt Cavagnaro single putting runners at the corners. Austin McClune then came up and hit a dribbler in front of the mound which scored Fitzpatrick with the Spikes second run.
