Farias Name to All MISL Second Team

ST. LOUIS, April 28, 2005 -St. Louis Steamers forward Carlos "Chile" Farias was named to the All MISL Second Team today.

Farias, 28, ranked third in the MISL in scoring with 58 points (29 goals, 29 assists). He ranked first on the Steamers with 29 goals, and was second on the team with 29 assists. The 5-6, 155-pound forward finished tied for first in the MISL with five game-winning goals. Farias was named MISL Offensive Player of the Week on two occasions this season.

The three-time all MISL selection was acquired from the Baltimore Blast on March 18 and notched 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in his 11 games as a Steamer.

The Santiago, Chile native has spent the previous two seasons with the Blast. He led Baltimore and finished third in the MISL last season with 65 points (22 goals, 43 assists), while being named to his second consecutive MISL All-Star Game. He played the 2002-03 season with the San Diego Sockers finishing second in the league with 111 points. Farias played three seasons with the San Diego Flash of the Major League Soccer outdoor league and is still the Flash's all-time leading scorer. He played one more outdoor season with the El Paso Patriots in 2001.
