Fans Invited To Select-A-Seat On Saturday
February 14, 2008 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
Sports fans from across the Quad Cities are invited to Modern Woodmen Park this Saturday for an open house in which the general public will have the opportunity to walk around the stadium and physically choose the seat that they want to watch River Bandits baseball from in 2008!
As opposed to the more traditional method of selecting season ticket plans and mini packages from a picture of a seating chart, the Select-a-Seat event is designed to allow fans to try out any seat in the house to ensure they get the seat and view that is perfect for them. The gates will open at 11:00 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m. for the general public, while season ticket holders will be eligible to renew their seats - or upgrade to better ones - beginning at 10:00 a.m.
"We've got one of the best ballparks in the minor leagues and the best setting in all of baseball," said team owner Dave Heller. "Our fans will be able to pick the seat that best suits their needs, whether it is near the Kids Zone, behind the home dugout, or close to the concession stands. But one thing is for sure, every seat in the house comes with a breathtaking view of the Mighty Mississippi and Centennial Bridge!"
In addition to full-season ticket plans, the River Bandits have introduced a series of new mini-plans tailored to meet the needs of their fans:
- Weekender Plan (24 games) - Includes all Friday and Saturday games, Opening Night, and the July 3 fireworks extravaganza!
- Fireworks Plan (11 games) - Includes all Friday Fireworks games as well as July 3!
- Thirst-Day Thursday Plan (10 games) - Includes all Thursday home games when draft beer, wine, and fountain sodas are half-price!
- You-Pick-10 Plan (10 games) - Pick any 10 games with a money-back guarantee if the River Bandits win all 10 of your chosen games!
- Ryno Grand Slam (6 games) and Gold Glove (5 games) Plans - Hall-of-Famer and Peoria Chiefs Manager Ryne Sandberg will be at Modern Woodmen Park 11 times in 2008, and you can secure your seat behind the visiting dugout for every one!
"We're so excited for the baseball season to begin and opening day is right around the corner," said Vice President Kirk Goodman. "With the winter we've been having everybody is looking forward to springtime, so we want to invite our fans to take advantage of beautiful Modern Woodmen Park and start thinking of sunshine, hot dogs, and a family-fun day at the ballpark. Baseball fans in the Quad Cities are going to be in for a treat with a promotional schedule like they've never seen before and an enhanced fan experience that everyone is going to enjoy. We are dedicated to providing this level of entertainment for years to come."
In addition to being able to walk the stadium and pick their seats, fans will be able to munch on free popcorn while enjoying the ballpark atmosphere. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase.
