Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that goaltender Joe Fallon has agreed to terms with the team and will be returning for his third season.

In his second season with Las Vegas last year, Fallon posted a 2.39 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage. After appearing in 17 straight games for the Wranglers mid-season, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound netminder went 12-4-0 during the streak and earned the ECHL Goaltender of the Week nod for Jan. 23-29, 2012. The Bemidji, Minn. native followed that with a call-up to the American Hockey League's Houston Aeros at the end of the season, going 5-2-0 with a shutout to be named AHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 18.

"Fallon is a huge reason why we had success last year," said Wranglers Head Coach and General Manager Ryan Mougenel. "He's an extremely committed athlete who, in my opinion, deserves to be at a higher level. Not only did he help us make it to the playoffs, but he played a part in Houston's advancement as well, and he should be proud of that. I'm excited to have him lead us."

The 27-year-old was a sixth-round draft pick by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2005, turning pro after four years (2004-08) at the University of Vermont. Since then, Fallon has made appearances with five AHL teams, going 27-25-1 and averaging a 2.73 GAA and a .906 save percentage.

The Wranglers face the Stockton Thunder in the team's home opening weekend on Friday, Oct. 19, and Saturday, Oct. 20, at 7:05 p.m. The team's home preseason game against the Ontario Reign takes place on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7:05 p.m.
