
Fall Instructional League Dates Announced

Pensacola Pelicans News Release
The Pelicans Training Academy announces today the dates of the 2009 Fall Instructional League. The six-week camp is set to begin Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Pelicans Training Academy located at 4920 N Davis Highway. Practices will be twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Fall Instructional League is geared to the high school player looking to improve their skills and prepare for the 2010 high school spring baseball season. The goal of the tune up is to teach sound baseball fundamentals that can be used from youth leagues to professional baseball.
In addition to the 12 practices, each player will play in a minimum of three local travel team tournaments. Entry into the tournaments is included the league registration.
Pensacola Pelicans Field Manager Talmadge Nunnari will be the lead instructor. Nunnari is a former Major Leaguer with the Montreal Expos and in his first year as the Pelicans Field Manager, he led the Pels to the league's second best record (53-43) and runner-up finish in the Championship Series. Other instructors including a pitching coach and infield coach will soon be named.
