Kelowna Falcons News Release

The Kelowna Falcons had their three game winning streak snapped on Wednesday after falling 6-2 to the Walla Walla Sweets.

After the Falcons scored in the top of the first inning off a Scotland Church RBI single, the Sweets scored four times in the bottom of the inning off starter Jeremy Alderman.

Nick Minteer cut the lead in half with his first homerun of the season for the Falcons but it wasn't enough.

The Sweets scored two unearned runs in the seventh inning off reliever Tyler Sanders to put any hope of a comeback on ice.

Offensively the Falcons tallied just five hits, as Church recorded two of them. Church has hit safely in all but one of the Falcons games so far this season.

Alderman settled in following the rough first inning. He lasted five innings and struck out three falling for the first time this summer.

The Falcons (3-2) and Sweets (2-3) will play a series rubber match on Thursday at 7:05pm. Austin Lambright is the scheduled starter and will make his summer debut.

Friday night the Falcons return home to host the Cowlitz Black Bears at 6:35pm.
