Falcons to Take Part in AHL 75th Anniversary Celebration

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today they will be taking part in the AHL's 75th season kick off playing a home-and-home series with divisional rival, the Providence Bruins. Springfield will open the 2010-11 regular season in Providence on Friday, October 8, followed by the Falcons hosting the Bruins on Saturday, October 9 at the MassMutual Center.
Both Springfield and Providence will be wearing throwback uniforms that will pay homage to the Indians days in Springfield and Reds years in Providence. Springfield, Providence, Cleveland and Syracuse were among the league's charter cities in 1936, with Hershey coming aboard in 1938 and Rochester joining in 1956.
Also taking part in the throwback openers will be Syracuse and Lake Erie going head-to-head, as well as Hershey and Rochester playing a home-and-home series.

The Falcons also announced that they will be hosting their next edition of Falcons Web TV through Falconsahl.com on Tuesday, June 8 starting at 12-noon. President and General Manager Bruce Landon will once again be the guest as he provides updates regarding the Falcons organization.

The Falcons continue to offer a variety of affordable season ticket packages for the 2010-2011 campaign. Ticket plans range from all 40 home games to a selection of mini plans including 22 and 12 game plans. The Falcons also offer Flex Packs in denominations of 40 games and 10 games.
