Falcons Name Theme Song

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today the winning song in their "Name the Song Challenge," which concluded as part of the Falcons' Summer Barbeque on August 15. The winning song is Journey's "Don't Stop Believing."
"We wanted to give our fans a chance to help select a theme song for the team and be a part of this search," said Falcons manager of game night operations Jason Gonet. "We want to thank everyone who submitted a vote and we look forward to debut this special song on opening night."
The "Name the Song Challenge" started in May and allowed fans a chance to submit their song choice through Falconsahl.com. All the entries were voted on by a panel of judges until the contest was narrowed down to five finalists. The winning song was selected as part of the second annual barbeque with all fans in attendance voting as to which of the five final songs they liked the best. The winning song, "Don't Stop Believing," will be played as part of the Falcons' pre-game video board presentation and when the team takes the ice for the first period for each individual home game.
The Falcons also announced that Evanescence's "Wake Me Up Inside" will be used as entrance music for the team at the start of the second and third periods of play. In an effort to honor the strong hockey tradition in Springfield, "Shake, Rattle and Roll" will be played following each Falcons' victory this upcoming season.
The Falcons are currently accepting deposits on full, half, and 10-game season ticket packages for the 2007-08 season, in addition to 40 and 10-Flex Packs. For more information please contact the Falcons office at 413-739-3344.
