
Falcons Lose 3-1 on Thursday Night

Cowlitz, WA: The Kelowna Falcons gave up two runs in the first two innings on Thursday night in Cowlitz and couldn't recover, losing their second straight 3-1 to the Black Bears.
Tyler Hoelzen from Sacramento State got the start for the Falcons and gave up one earned and one unearned run, suffering the loss in his debut.
The Falcons lone run came in the fifth off Bears starter Leko Galusha. Tyler Qualls picked up his second RBI in as many nights with a single to score Jace Conrad.
The first three batters in the Falcons line up (Conrad, Pat Johnson and Qualls) each had two hits, as did catcher Caleb Barker. In fact the Falcons out hit the Bears 8-4, but couldn't make contact in key situations.
The Falcons (0-2) will look to salvage a win in the final game of the series on Friday. Righty Cord Cockrill from the University of Louisiana Lafayette is the scheduled starter. The Bears (2-3) haven't announced their starter as of yet.
Following Friday night's game the Falcons will board the bus and make the 10 hour trip back to the Okanagan to prepare for their home opener on Sunday when they host the Kitsap Bluejackets. Admission is FREE courtesy of Kon Kast Products as the gates open at 5:00pm.
