
Falcons announce new flagship radio station

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that they have agreed to terms with Clear Channel Communications to broadcast all 80 games (40 home and 40 away) on The Zone Sports Radio 640 during the 2006-07 season. The Falcons also announced that John Michael will return for his second season as the play-by-play voice of the Falcons.
"We are very excited to be returning to The Zone and also to have a quality broadcaster in John Michael returning for the 2006-07 season," said Falcons President and General Manager Bruce Landon. "We have had a strong relationship with Clear Channel Communications over the years and we are thrilled to be partnered once again with the Pioneer Valley's leader in radio sports programming. Our partnership with Clear Channel Communications is just another positive step in the right direction for us as an organization as we continue to prepare for the 2006-07 season."
Prior to the 2005-06 season, the Falcons were partnered with The Zone Sports Radio 640 during the station's transition to an all sports programming format in 2001.
"We are also very excited to be teamed up with the Springfield Falcons once again," said Clear Channel Communications Vice President and Market Manager Tom McConnell. "We are looking forward to a successful 2006-07 season and having our listeners enjoy Falcons hockey on The Zone Sports Radio 640."
