Extreme (5-4) at Lexington (5-5)

Game facts: The Extreme is looking to get back on the winning track after having a record five-game streak snapped in a 58-46 Eastern Conference loss to Evansville at U.S. Cellular Coliseum...Lexington suffered a 38-31 Eastern Conference loss to RiverCity last week and has lost two in a row and three of its last four games.

The Extreme, which is making its first trip ever to Rupp Arena, rallied from a 12-point deficit in the final 61 seconds last month to defeat the Horsemen, 33-32, at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. That game was the beginning of the Extreme's winning streak.

Bloomington has a 3-1 record on the road this season and is 6-5 all-time on the road. Lexington is 2-2 at home this season and 9-3 all-time.

Both teams have common opponents in Ohio Valley, RiverCity, Rock River and Evansville. The Extreme has a 3-4 record against those teams, while Lexington is 5-3.

The series: Lexington leads, 2-1.

Coaches: Ted Schmitz is in his second season as the head coach of the Extreme. He has a 10-14 career record. Lexington's head coach is Mike Zuckerman, who is in his second year with the Horsemen and has a career record of 19-8. He led Lexington to a 14-3 record last season and guided the Horsemen to the semifinal round of the UIF playoffs.

Extreme's last outing: Wide receiver Reggie Gray and quarterback Dusty Burk set or tied team records, but it wasn't enough as the Extreme suffered a 58-46 loss to Evansville before 5,611 people at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. It was the second largest crowd to see a UIF game this season.

Gray, who was nominated by the Extreme coaching staff for UIF Offensive Player of the Week honors, equaled teammate James Walton's record of nine pass receptions in a game. Gray gained 104 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Burk completed a team record 24 passes (on 37 attempts) for a team record 261 yards and six touchdowns. It marked the second time this season and the third time in his career that Burk has thrown for a team record six touchdowns.

Extreme injuries, etc: DL Rachman Crable (questionable, sprained ankle); DB Lamar Baker (out, groin injury); DL Nick Ruud (out, ACL tear); DB James Temple will miss the game because he is attending a professional football combine workout in Indianapolis. He missed last week's game attending a combine workout in Atlanta. Ga.

Extreme additions: .The Extreme signed offensive lineman Eric Johnson (No. 75), a 6-foot-3, 300-pound former Bloomington Central Catholic High School and Eastern Illinois University product, along with 6-5, 235-pound defensive lineman Dominic Payne from Eastern Arizona and Western Arizona State. Payne played for the Peoria Roughriders last season.

Extreme on offense: The Extreme ranks second in the UIF in passing offense with an average of 183.3 yards per game, but last in rushing offense (52.4 yards). The Extreme rates third in total offense at 235.8 yards per game and fourth in scoring with 40.2 points per outing. Lexington is third in scoring with a 43.8 average.

Individually, the Extreme has three receivers among the top 10 in the league. James Walton ranks third by averaging 63.5 yards per game. Glenn Johnson is fourth (63.0) and Reggie Gray is seventh (55.8).

Extreme on defense: Defensive back Terrill Mayberry leads the league in passes defended with 15 points for a 1.67 per game average. Mayberry has broken up 14 passes and intercepted one.

The Extreme has three of the top five tacklers in the league. Defensive back Mike Crumpler ranks third in total tackles with an average of 7.1 per game (29 solos, 41 assists, 49.5 points), while linebacker Dorian Pitts is fourth at 6.9 (30 solos, 51 assists, 55.5 points) and Mayberry is eighth (35 solos, 33 assists, 51.5 points) at 5.7.

Eric Johnson is fifth in the league in quarterback sacks with seven points (six solos and two assists) for a minus 34 yards.

The Extreme ranks last in total defense (265.9), rushing defense (80.8) and pass defense (185.1). It is eighth in scoring defense, allowing 40.9 points per game. Lexington is third in scoring defense (35.5), eighth in total defense (219.5), eighth in pass defense (157.7) and sixth in rush defense (61.7).

Lexington leaders: Wide receiver Harry Lewis is second in the league with an average of 67.1 yards per game. He has 51 receptions for 604 yards and nine touchdowns. Quarterback Kewan Drewberry ranks fourth in passing with 148 completions on 216 attempts for 1,535 yards and 32 touchdowns. He is fifth in total offense with a 158-yard per game average.

Running back Rayshawn Askew is fourth in the league in rushing with a 41.6 yards per game average and fifth in scoring with 19 touchdowns for 114 points.

Extreme next week: Rock River visits U.S. Cellular Coliseum for the second time this season in a 7:05 p.m. contest. Members of the universal-known Dallas Cowboys cheerleading squad will perform and sign autographs.

It is also Special Olympics Night and the Extreme players will wear specially designed jerseys that will be auctioned to fans following the game. Proceeds from the auction and a portion of the tickets sold to the game will be donated to Special Olympics Illinois.
