BLOOMINGTON (Ill.) - The Bloomington Extreme has signed Defensive Lineman, Prenny Stokes and Charles Edwards, along with Linebacker James Cloud, and Wide Receiver Adam Kesler.
James Cloud, 6'2" 220 lbs. - Linebacker from Southern Illinois University was named to the 2008 All-Missouri Valley Conference second team after leading the Salukis in tackles for loss (15) and sacks (7.5), while recording 57 tackles in 11 starts. Cloud, a Hackensack, New Jersey Native, was a 2007 Sports Network All-American and first team All-Missouri Valley Conference after leading the conference in sacks (8.5) and tackles for loss (14.5).
Charles Edwards, 6'3" 290 lbs. - Defensive Lineman from North Carolina Central University saw limited action during his senior season of college, but was able to manage 9 tackles and 1 sack in 4 games. Edwards spent the past two seasons playing for the Iowa Barnstormers.
Prenny Stokes., 6'4' 280 lbs. - Defensive Lineman from Indiana State University started on the Sycamores defensive line his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons, prior to moving to Center his senior season. Stokes recorded 10 tackles during the 2007 season.
Adam Kesler 5'10" 190lbs -Wide Receiver from Eastern Illinois University was signed following an audition at the Extreme Tryout camp which was open to the public. The speedy receiver/kick returner compiled 27 receptions for 237 yards and one touchdown to go along with 870 return yards as a member of the Eastern Illinois football program.
The Extreme has released Quarterback Kevin Norris from the University of Michigan, who had signed November 12, 2009.
"We open Training Camp in a little over two months and we'll have 45 guys vying for 30 roster spots, of which only 21 will dress for games. Training Camp will be tough due to the talented roster we've assembled and continue to build on, but we're confident we will put a very competitive team on the field again this season" said Head Coach Kenton Carr.
The Bloomington Extreme will play seven home games at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in 2010. The regular season runs from March-June with playoffs to follow. The 2010 Extreme finished with a 10-5 record, making their third straight playoff appearance in the franchises four year history. Season Tickets are on sale now, call 309.434.2658.
