Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, saw the first overtime goal in team history on Friday, as F Pierre-Luc Faubert scored with 31 seconds left in extra time to sink the Kalamazoo Wings. The Express finished the week with a 1-1-2-0 record, and their 35 points places them in second place, just two points behind the Kalamazoo Wings.

TOLEDO 2, Express 1, OT
The Express broke a scoreless tie when F Kyle Ostrow scored with a 5-on-3 advantage less than seven minutes into the frame to grab a 1-0 lead. The score remained 1-0, until Toledo evened up the game with an extra attacker, scoring with just 19 seconds left in regulation. A penalty to Chicago late in OT resulted in slap shot goal from Toledo D Ben Youds, as the Walleye collected the 2-1 overtime win.
Friday, December 30
EXPRESS 4, Kalamazoo 3, OT
Chicago surrendered two goals quickly in the opening frame, falling behind 2-0 before five minutes had expired. The Express battled back, with D Nathan Lutz and RW Tyler Donati both scoring in the second period, evening the contest at 2-2 going into the third period. LW Chad Painchaud gave Chicago the lead with 1:47 left to play in the third, but for the second straight game the Express surrendered a goal late in the period, forcing the game into overtime. F Pierre-Luc Faubert ended the contest with just 31 seconds remaining on the clock, as the Express earned the extra-point with a 4-3 win.
Saturday, December 31
Greenville 3, EXPRESS 2, OT
After a scoreless first period, the Road Warriors grabbed the lead 53 seconds into the middle frame. Chicago's D Nathan Lutz tallied for the second straight game to even the score late in the second, only to see an early third period goal boost Greenville back into the lead. F Kyle Ostrow forced overtime with a goal at 16:36, but a power play in overtime from Greenville resulted in a goal less than two minutes into extra time, granting the Road Warriors a 3-2 win.

Greenville 4, EXPRESS 2
The Express struck first, as F Pierre-Luc Faubert scored his second goal of the week less than five minutes into the first period. The 1-0 lead held through the midway point of the second stanza, when Greenville scored twice in less than four minutes to jump ahead of the Express. D Scott Wietecha grabbed momentum back for Chicago to tie the game up 52 seconds later, as the teams went tied 2-2 into the third period. Greenville regained the lead with a deflection at 9:48, and then added an empty-netter for the eventual 4-2 win.

G Paul Dainton stopped 40 shots on Tuesday, tying his own team record for saves in a game.F Pierre-Luc Faubert's overtime goal on Friday was the first overtime goal in team history.C Joe Cucci had his first professional multiple point game on Friday. He had two assists in Chicago's 4-3 OT win.The Express played three straight games that went past regulation this week, marking the longest streak of games to go into overtime for the Express.D Darcy Campbell played in his 200th North American professional game on Sunday. He earned an assist in the contest.
