Express Signs Palmer, Adding to Offensive Line

Reading, PA - December 19 - East Carolina University graduate and offensive lineman Doug Palmer will be joining the Reading Express Indoor Football Team for the 2012 season.

Palmer was a member of East Carolina's football team during the 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 season, making three consecutive bowl game appearances, the 2007 Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl, and the AutoZone Liberty Bowl in 2008 and 2009.

During Palmer's time as a Pirate he started in 25 games and appeared in 41 while playing offensive guard. At 6'3 317 pounds, Doug is an extremely powerful player. While at ECU, Doug was the recipient of the offensive unit's Crunch Award, an honor given annually to the player with the most big hits during the course of a season.

Palmer went to Douglas Byrd High School in Fayetteville, NC where he received both offensive and defensive all-conference accolades his senior year.

The Reading Express are one of the most established franchises in indoor football. In six full seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 73-27 with five division championships, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In 2011, Reading began play as a new member of the Indoor Football League and captured the league's Atlantic Division title.
