The last time the two teams met, despite being down 12 points, the Bloomington Edge rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat the Reading Express on April 14 at the Sovereign Center, 41-31.

The Edge solidified the win when the last driving attempts resulted in two interceptions (thrown by Bo Thompson) by Pacino Horne and Ismail. Earlier in the night Ismail also intercepted a pass from Bailey intended for Express leading receiver, Chris Schubert.

In fair fight, the Express outgained the Edge by just 2 yards in total offensive yardage. Defensively, Geoffrey Howard for the Express made critical plays in the game including five tackles, one broken-up pass, and one interception.

Michael Thompson led the team in tackles with seven, two for a loss of yardage for the Edge. Thompson also had a fumble recovery.

"The defense is finally learning to read each other and learning to trust each other, which is really big for us," Michael Thompson said.

The Express dominated the first half into the third quarter. Kicker Erik Rockhold started the game off with a 36 yard field goal on the Express' first possession. Rockhold went on to kick two more field goals for 16 yards and 24 yards in the second and third quarters to extend the Express lead, 23-13.

The Edge answered with a 4-yard run by Raymond, late in the first and then Burk hit Raymond in the end zone for a 10 yard touchdown reception to make it 13-3 early in the second. The Edge didn't go on to score again until late in the third when the momentum shifted in their favor.

The Express hits the road this week for the third and final match-up of the season against Bloomington and are looking to get the first "W" of the season. You can watch the game on America One via the Express website; www.expressindoorfootball.com
