Reading Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski announced today the signing 6"3" 275 lb Defensive Linemen Tomas Rodriguez. Tomas attended Orange HS in Ohio and played his college football at Kent State. Express fans may better remember Rodriquez from last season, as one of the extremely talented, tough and hard charging D-linemen from the Canton Legends.
"Tomas is a great addition to our defense. He brings size, strength speed and agility" said Nowotarski. "Tomas is just an all around athlete, he has all the tools to be standout on our defense and I believe he will fit in to our system here with no problems" added Nowotarski.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Express signed the speedy WR Josh Hannum. Josh played his high school football at Strath Haven where he was an All-State and All-American player. His college career started at Penn State but due to a family illness, he finished up at Ursinus where he was an All-Conference receiver. Josh is 6' 190lbs and has great speed.
"Josh is joining a very talented group of receivers. The competition at camp is going to be a real battle. When the dust settles, I may carry more receivers than I anticipated. The nice thing is that several of these guys can play other positions." stated Nowotarski
"I have more exciting Express news to release in the near future. I'm still working some of the details out on a few things, but I know the Loyal Express fans will not be disappointed" stated Nowotarski.
