TROY, NY --- The New York-Penn League game between the Vermont Expos and Tri-City ValleyCats on Monday night was postponed due to rain at Bruno Stadium, which now gives the Expos an added home game at Centennial Field this week.

Mondayu was the last scheduled meeting between the two teams at Tri-City this season, but because the teams are scheduled to play each other six more times in Vermont, the game will be made up as part of a doubleheader at Centennial on Thursday, August 19th beginning at 6:05 p.m.

The teams were orginally scheduled for single games at Centennial Field this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7:05 p.m. They are now scheduled for a single game Wednesday at 7:05 p.m., the doubleheader on Thursday at 6:05 p.m. and a single game to close out the series on Friday at 7:05 p.m.

Because the first game of Thursday's doubleheader was scheduled for Monday in Tri-City, the ValleyCats will be the home team and bat last in the opener on Thursday. The Expos will be the home team in the originally scheduled second game. Both games will be seven-inning games.

This is the fifth rainout of the season for Vermont. Three of the Expos previous four rainouts, including two at Centennial, were the last meetings of the season and will not be made up. Thursday will be Vermont's second doubleheader of the season.
