Explosion drop first game in a two game series against Edmonton Monroe, Washington - May 22nd 2009 - The Snohomish County Explosion drop the first game in Edmonton Friday night 159-127. The Explosion have less than 24 hours until the second game tip off so regrouping is necessary in quick order. The Explosion's leading scorer was the IBL leader Devon Greene who poured in 39 points. Jason Hicks recorded the Explosion's second franchise triple double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists.
With Snohomish County down by 30 points at halftime the Explosion did clawed there way back into the game and made a huge run in the second half bring the lead down to 8 points before the Energy put away the game.
Look for the Explosion to make some lineup changes going into the second game with a friendly flu holding some player out due to sickness.
