Everett Streaks to 13 Straight Wins

The Everett Silvertips hit win number 13 in a row after they downed the Prince George Cougars by a final score of 3-1. The Silvertips move up to 18-1-0-1 and now have 37 points, still first place in the US Division. Prince George, dropping to 8-12-0-2, now has 18 points and holds down the fourth place spot on the BC Division.

All four goals scored in the game were tallied during the second period. At 6:14 Moises Gutierrez earned his 11th of the year after he tipped the puck in. Five minutes later Kyle Klym scored the lone goal for the Cougars and tied the game up at one a piece. At 15:17, on an Everett power play, Kyle Beach propelled the Silvertips up by one more after his shot went through a Prince George player and underneath Real Cyr's pads. Then late in the period, again on the extra man advantage, Jason Fransoo earned his fifth goal of the year and put Everett up 3-1 after he one-timed it from the top right circle.

Peter Mueller had three assists tonight, assisting on all the Everett goals. Kyle Beach, Moises Gutierrez and Zach Hamill all posted one helper a piece. With Hamill's assist tonight he is now the all time assist leader in franchise history.

David Reekie started in goal and turned away 28/29 shots. His all-time record improves to 5-3, while he is a perfect 4-0 in a Silvertips uniform. Real Cyr, stopping 16/19, drops his game statistics to 7-9-0-2. On the power play Everett capitalized on 2/7 while Prince George was scoreless on three chances. The Cougars out shot the Silvertips 29-19.

The Everett Silvertips will battle division rivals, the Seattle Thunderbirds, tomorrow night. The puck drops between these two clubs at the Key Arena at 7:05pm.
