October 18, 2018 - ECHL (ECHL)
Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, Fla. - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush and Head Coach Brad Ralph have announced the team has signed forward Nathan Perkovich and added him to the reserve list.
With three seasons of AHL experience and 10 total seasons of professional experience, Perkovich will add a veteran presence and size to the 'Blades roster.
Perkovich, 33, joins Florida after playing the first part of the 2018-19 season in Croatia with Medvescak Zagreb in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (EBEL), which is based in Austria. The Canton, Michigan, native played each of the last seven seasons in Croatia with Medvescak Zagreb between the KHL and EBEL and totaled 219 games and 56 points in his career with the franchise. He captained the team last season and for the start of the 2018-19 season.
An eighth-round selection of the New Jersey Devils in the 2004 NHL Draft, Perkovich stands at 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 216 pounds, making him the tallest skater on the Florida roster.
Prior to turning professional, Perkovich played three seasons in the AHL, one with the Lowell Devils and two with the Albany Devils. In 161 career AHL games, he totaled 69 points on 37 goals and 32 assists.
ECHL teams can carry up to two (2) players on their reserve list at any given time.
Along with signing Perkovich, the 'Blades traded forward Matt Foget to the Orlando Solar Bears for future considerations in a separate transaction. Additionally, forward Trevor Petersen has been released.
Florida hosts the Norfolk Admirals on Friday and Saturday at Hertz Arena for the first two home games of the 2018-19 season. Single-game tickets start as low as $10.
