EVANSVILLE, IN: Saturday night will be the first meeting of the season between the Evansville BlueCats (2-6) and the Bloomington Extreme (5-3) when Evansville travels to the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, IL. Kickoff for Saturday night is scheduled for 7:05pm and can be heard live in Evansville on News-Talk 1280 WGBF-AM or live on the web at www.103gbfrocks.com. Jimmie Ford will be on play-by-play, the pre-game show will start at 6:45pm.
Evansville enters this game coming off their second bye week of the season, while Bloomington was victorious on the road against the Rock River Raptors last weekend, winning by a score of 54-47 in overtime. After losing their first 3 games of the season, Bloomington has been red hot and will enter the game against the BlueCats on a 5 game winning streak. Evansville will be looking to put a stop to that streak and put an end to a streak of their own, as Evansville has lost two games in a row.
The BlueCats will welcome several new players who have joined the team since their most recent game against the Lexington Horsemen back on May 19th, including wide receiver Drouzon Quillen, defensive backs David Reese and Hunter Pingston, lineman Don Pitt, and kicker Nate Meyer. All 5 will be making their indoor football debut on Saturday.
For the BlueCats to be successful on Saturday night, they must find a way to contain Bloomington quarterback Dusty Burk. He's 5-0 as the starter this season, throwing for 1,031 yards, 22 touchdowns, and only 5 interceptions in 5 games this season. He's also rushed for 160 yards and 8 touchdowns.
