Indy Fuel News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, announced Thursday that goaltender Ãtienne Marcoux has signed a professional tryout contract (PTO) with the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The Penguins begin a three-game swing through the Midwest on Friday, including a visit to Rockford on Saturday night.
Marcoux, 24, has a 16-11-1 record in 30 appearances for the Fuel this season, alongside a 3.07 goals against average and a .917 save percentage. In his first full professional season, the native of Laval, Quebec was named an ECHL All-Star as well as the league's Rookie of the Month in December. This is Marcoux's third AHL call-up of the season, though the rookie netminder did not see game action during prior stints with the Laval Rocket and Springfield Thunderbirds.
In 39 career ECHL games played with Indy, Utah and Rapid City, Marcoux owns an 18-16-2 record, a 3.10 goals against average, and a .916 save percentage. Prior to turning pro, Marcoux spent two seasons with the University of New Brunswick, posting a 31-4-0 with a 1.86 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage in 36 games.
The Fuel continue their playoff push this Friday with a critical road match-up with the Cincinnati Cyclones, before returning to Indiana Farmers Coliseum for a back-to-back set with the Utah Grizzlies, beginning Saturday at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
Single game tickets are now available for the entire 2017-18 Fuel season at Indiana Farmers Coliseum!
