Erie, Pennsylvania - Home sweet home! After a thrilling victory in Guelph on Friday night that saw Erie finally snap the woes at the Sleeman Centre and end a five-game losing streak by downing their Midwest Division foes. With a downtrodden - but still highly-skilled - Oshawa Generals coming to town, Erie would look to get revenge from a tight loss last month in eastern Toronto.

After a win on the road, the Otters would look to keep some momentum going on home ice, but it would be a quiet first period for the Otters. The first penalty of the period wouldn't come until almost halfway through the frame when an Oshawa player would get called for high sticking and give the Otters a chance at a power play. Unable to capitalize, the Otters would return to back-and-forth play with neither team getting on the right side of an opportunity until just over four minutes left when Stuart Rolofs (28) found the back of the net for the Generals. Despite outshooting the opponent 14-10, the first frame would end 1-0 in favor of Oshawa.

The second frame would be scoreless on both sides with neither team able to find the back of the net, though not for lack of trying. The Generals would outshoot the Otters this frame 13-8 and Jacob Oster in the crease for Oshawa would rack up 23 saves in the first two periods.

The Generals would come out guns blazing to start the third with four back-to-back shots, though Ethan Fraser would be more than up to the task and would help keep it a one-goal game. Finally, with 12:26 left in the game, Owain Johnston (4) would tie the game up and bring some life to the Otters' offense. A gritty Erie defense would make the Generals work for every inch and Ethan Fraser's heroics in the final seconds of the third frame would send the game into overtime.

The same intensity and nail-biting play would follow the Otters into overtime, where both sides saw numerous opportunities and great defensive play. Once again, Ethan Fraser would come up huge where it counts to send the game into a shoot-out. The Generals would draw first blood in the shoot-out, with Connor Lockhart finding the back of the net. Ondrej Molnar for the Otters would miss his attempt. In round two, Dylan Roobroeck would make it two for the Generals. Next for the Otters would be Malcolm Spence, whose shot hit the post and went wide, sealing the victory for the Oshawa Generals. Ethan Fraser's first night in Erie would end with 40 saves, even though the Otters weren't able to take the win.

The Erie Otters "week" closes on Monday afternoon for Canada's Family Day, making their only trip of the season to Brantford against the Bulldogs. The conclusion of Monday's game will close out a stretch of 13 games in 19 days for the Otters, and give them a reprieve before their next game on Saturday, February 24.
