Eskimos announce Women's Dinner to raise money for ovarian cancer

Every three and a half hours -- or about the time it takes the Edmonton Eskimos to play a game at Commonwealth Stadium - another Canadian women is diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

The women of Edmonton Eskimo Football have joined forces with the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation team to turn the whisper to a roar in the fight against ovarian cancer. In an effort to raise funds to support research to battle the disease that boasts a sixty percent mortality rate among women diagnosed, we will be hosting the inaugural Eskimo Women's Dinner, with proceeds going to ovarian cancer research at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women.

Honourary Chair Lynn Mandel said, "The Eskimo Women's dinner is a fantastic opportunity for women to enjoy an evening of football related fun while donating to a worthy cause. As Chair of the Community Outreach Committee at the Lois Hole Hospital for women, I know the dollars donated toward ovarian cancer research will be most helpful in our battle against this disease. The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club are fantastic community supporters - this event is just another example of their exceptional community efforts to make Edmonton, the capital region and northern Alberta a better place to live."

We invite the women of football - the fans of the sport in our city - to enjoy a night of festivities at Commonwealth Stadium. The evening is designed to celebrate the sport, the survivors and to honour those lost to the battle. Be part of the Eskimo Women's Dinner and Live On - Fight On!
