LAS VEGAS, NV--Brian Farber's header goal with 2.2 seconds remaining in regulation gave the San Diego Sockers a thrilling 6-5 victory over the Las Vegas Legends, extending their U.S. pro sports record winning streak to 47 games. The Sockers (10-0) took their only lead of the game when Diego Rovira crossed a long ball with 6.1 seconds remaining into the attacking near corner, where Sockers forward Kraig Chiles back-heeled a pass off the goal glass to Farber, whose jumping header eluded Vegas keeper Zeke Sanchez for the game-winning strike. Farber led the Sockers with two goals and two assists.

"We were just dumping it into the corner and hoping for a lucky bounce, and that's what we got," said Farber, "I saw it coming to my head and knew I had to put it in or I'd be kicking myself all night. Vegas was a very good team and gave us a strong test. I'm glad we were able to win and keep the streak alive."

The Sockers conceded the game's first goal in front of a spirited Orleans Arena crowd of 2,427, and trailed 3-1 after one quarter and 4-1 midway through the second. Goals by Aaron Susi and Farber helped draw San Diego within one goal early in the third quarter, but Felipe Gonzalez's second tally of the night allowed the Legends (10-2) to regain a two-goal advantage at 5-3. A free kick goal by Chiky Luna and Chiles' 39th goal of the year leveled the score at five after three quarters. A tense and wild fourth saw both teams with multiple scoring chances before Farber's game-winner.

The Legends saw their nine-game winning streak come to an end, while the Sockers won their 34th straight PASL regular season contest and their 19th in a row on the road. San Diego's road trip continues next week with games Friday in Harrisburg and Sunday in Dallas.
