Erwin named Cranes' Director of Basketball Operations

Kearney, Neb. – Tyler Erwin, a native of Laurel Neb., has been named the Director of Basketball Operations for the Nebraska Cranes.

Erwin was a four-year letter winner in football and basketball at Laurel-Concord High School with all conference and all state honors. Erwin was a member of the 1995 state runner-up football team and won a state title as a member of the basketball team in Class C-2.

Earning scholarships to play basketball at Midland Lutheran College (MLC), Erwin was a member of the NAIA National Tournament Team, earning all conference honors. He graduated from MLC in 2000 with a Business Administration and Coaching degree. After his playing career, Erwin stayed at MLC where he was an assistant coach for three years under Head Coach Rich McGill.

Erwin is currently a second year grad student at the University of Nebraska Kearney working on a Master's degree in Education/Sport Administration planning to graduate in July 2005. As a Graduate Assistant for the Loper Basketball team the past two years, Erwin was in charge of typical game day operation, video responsibilities, film exchange, film editing, various travel accommodations, preparation for practice times, administration of camps and a various coaching duties.
