Nebraska Cranes News Release
Kearney, NE - (April 5, 2006) The Nebraska Cranes professional basketball team has signed 6'6" guard/forward, Jason Smith to their young roster. Smith recently earned a spot in the 2006 ABA All-Star game while playing for the San Jose Skyrockets.
"Jason is an all-around scorer, inside or out," Cranes Coach Brian Walsh said. "He puts pressure on the defense in transition and the half court offense."
Smith averaged 20 points and 8 rebounds a game for the Skyrockets. He played in college at Mississippi and helped the Rebels win a pair of Southeastern Conference West Division Championships, averaging almost 13 points a game his senior season in 2000. He has also played in Europe and in the WBA.
