Erie Teammates Daniels And Rice Named D-League Co-Performers Of The Week

NEW YORK, March 9, 2009 - Erik Daniels and Maureece Rice of the Erie BayHawks were today named NBA D-League Co-Performers of the Week for games played during the week of March 2. Daniels, who also earned the honor on Dec. 8, 2008, and Rice led Erie to a 3-0 record last week.
Daniels, a 6-8 forward from Kentucky, averaged 23.3 points, 13.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists last week, including a triple-double on Thursday when he scored 30 points, pulled down 23 rebounds and dished out 10 assists in a win over Tulsa.
Rice, a 6-1 rookie guard from George Washington, finished the week averaging 24.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists. He has scored more than 20 points in his last eight outings.
Daniels, a 2009 NBA D-League All-Star, ranks sixth in the league with 21.2 points and third with 10.2 rebounds, while Rice is averaging 16.8 points. The pair has led Erie to a 22-17 record.
Other top performers last week included Anaheim's Kedrick Brown, who averaged 27.3 points and 7.0 rebounds for the Arsenal; Albuquerque's Will Conroy, who averaged 27.5 points and 8.7 rebounds in three games for the Thunderbirds; Colorado's Josh Davis, who averaged 25.0 points and 11.3 rebounds in three games for the 14ers; Reno's Patrick Ewing, Jr., who averaged 23.0 points and 8.7 rebounds in two games for the Bighorns; Iowa's Courtney Sims, who averaged 23.3 points and 11.3 rebounds in three games for the Energy and Austin's Marcus Williams, who averaged 25.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in three games for the Toros.
