Daniels and Rice Named D League Performers of the Week

ERIE - Erik Daniels and Maureece Rice of the Erie BayHawks were today named NBA D-League Co-Performers of the Week for games played during the week of March 2. Daniels, who also earned the honor on Dec. 8, 2008, and Rice led Erie to a 3-0 record last week.
Daniels, a 6-8 forward from Kentucky, averaged 23.3 points, 13.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists last week, including a triple-double on Thursday when he scored 30 points, pulled down 23 rebounds and dished out 10 assists in a win over Tulsa.
Rice, a 6-1 rookie guard from George Washington, finished the week averaging 24.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists. He has scored more than 20 points in his last eight outings.
Daniels, a 2009 NBA D-League All-Star, ranks sixth in the league with 21.2 points and third with 10.2 rebounds, while Rice is averaging 16.8 points. The pair has led Erie to a 22-17 record.
The BayHawks will wrap up their current home stand, taking on division rival the Dakota Wizards Friday night at the Tullio Arena, tipoff is set for 7:00 PM. Erie Life Magazine will have a number of giveaways throughout the night and one lucky fan is guaranteed to win a car courtesy of Jay's Auto Wrecking.
