Erie Explosion News Release

(Erie, PA)- Despite coming off of an impressive 21 point victory on the road vs. the Harrisburg Stampede this week, the Erie Explosion continue to make moves to improve their roster. Explosion Head Coach Shawn Liotta announced today that the club has acquired veteran indoor wide receiver Tirone Morris via trade with the Columbus Lions.

Morris (6', 195) a product of Alabama A&M, has developed a reputation as one of the top receivers in professional indoor football and is expected to make an immediate impact on an already explosive Erie passing attack. During the 2010 SIFL season, Morris accumulated 85 receptions for 996 yards and 13 touchdowns as the Lions captured the 2010 SIFL Championship. His reception and yardage totals led the entire Southern Indoor Football League, and he was named to the First Team All-SIFL team for his accomplishments. Morris is the current record holder for most receptions in an SIFL game with 16 receptions. Details of the trade with Columbus were not disclosed.

Morris will practice in Erie this week and is expected to be active when the Explosion travel to face the Trenton Steel on Saturday March 26th in a key early season divisional game. For more information on the Erie Explosion visit www.ErieExplosion.com
