Elmira Enforcers News Release
ELMIRA, NEW YORK -The Elmira Enforcers front office is abuzz with activity as the calendar continues to progress. Already the Enforcers have secured major sponsorship with Arnot Health, Bully Hill Vineyards, Corning Inc, First Transit, Hilliard, Multi Media Services, and New Britain Roofing Co. and are still in progress of securing more sponsors for their upcoming inaugural campaign.
Aside from sponsorship the team at First Arena is still upgrading and enhancing the arena for a fresh look for their fans as well as securing ice inside it for the first time in over a calendar year. In addition to the busy nature of sponsorship and arena maintenance the Enforcers are also pleased to announce their second official signing, Kyle Stevens to their roster.
Stevens is a one-year FHL veteran having played for Coach Brent Clarke's Danville Dashers for 40 games last season racking up 13 goals 10 assists and 37 penalty minutes. Kyle would end the year in Carolina with the Thunderbirds earning five points in five games played (2 goals and 3 assists).
"Elmira being a new team and an arena that used to be an ECHL arena it just seemed like a good hockey base there, and with it being somewhat close to home and then I heard Brent was going to be there so I really wanted to go try to make the team." Kyle said.
Before joining the FHL Stevens played in the GMHL and WSHL for the Meaford Knights and Vancouver Rangers respectively. He is not completely foreign to the southern tier however having played for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights for 19 games in 2014-15 before moving on to the Bay State Breakers of the USPHL Elite league.
"From what he lacks in size and stature he makes up for in grit and heart. He always gets those key goals in situations when you need one." Coach Brent Clarke said about Stevens. "(Stevens) came out of free agent camp and got better and better. Out of the thirteen goals he had for me I bet twelve of them were important."
The Enforcers kickoff their first season at home November 16th at First Arena. Season tickets as well as sponsorship packages for Elmira's first season of FHL hockey are still available now by contacting First Arena directly at (607) 734-7825.
