Elmira Enforcers News Release
ELMIRA, NEW YORK "" The Danville Dashers and Elmira Enforcers continue to wheel and deal ahead of their first meeting as head coach Brent Clarke reclaimed another piece of his playoff team from last season acquiring Defenseman Glen Patterson.
Clarke explained why Patterson was a necessary addition ahead of Elmira's first season. "(Glen) is a leader. He eats up a lot of minutes and has big offensive upside. He has a big body and I know if I put him out there in any situation he is going to play big."
Patterson comes off a season in which he played 52 games and collected 24 points (4g, 20a.) Glen played for three Swedish Elite League teams before returning to North America in 2016-17 to play for the Columbus Cottonmouths of the SPHL and then last year for the Danville Dashers.
Trades can always be a bit shocking, but Glen comes into this one with optimism. "I was really excited to hear I was coming to Elmira. It has been a long summer. I am kind of a player who can play any role that is given to me so I just try to play both sides of the puck as well as I can." Patterson told the media when talking about the trade.
Patterson continued on the reasons he was looking forward to coming as he talked about the coach. "Last year was one of the best relationships I have had with a coach. It's good to know I have a coach here I can dialogue with and I have a good relationship with. Coach Clarke and I worked very well together last season and I am looking forward to picking up where we left off."
The Enforcers drop the puck on their first season at home Friday, November 16th at First Arena. Season tickets as well as single game seats for Elmira's first season of FHL hockey are available now by contacting First Arena directly at (607) 734-7825.
