OKLAHOMA CITY- Energy FC signed defender David Diosa, head coach Jimmy Nielsen announced today. The contract is pending USL and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.

Diosa, has played the last four seasons with the New York Cosmos (NASL). During those four seasons the native of Medellin, Colombia appeared in 39 games, scored four goals and five assists and logged 1,934 minutes. His most productive season was the 2016 campaign when he played in 23 matches, logged 1,034 minutes and scored three goals and added three assists.

A product of the New York Cosmos Academy, Diosa appeared in games for the U18 and U23 teams before signing with the Cosmos first team.

"He will want to come in and prove himself," said Nielsen. "He is versatile...can play left back, left wing or right wing, which gives us multiple options for our attack and defense. His primary position is left back, but he is attacking-minded in that position. His timing going forward is amazing and that contributed to his high offensive output last season."

"I choose to sign with Energy FCc because I've heard nothing but good things about the organization and team," said Diosa. "I know the team is competitive and its aiming high. Really excited to be here and reach the goals set for the team this year."

Diosa joins forwards Wojciech Wojcik, Miguel Gonzalez, Danni König; midfielders Luis Martinez, Daniel Gonzalez, Alejandro Covarrubias, Alex Dixon, Juan Guzman and Philip Rasmussen; defenders Sam Fink, Kyle Hyland, Richard Dixon, Michael Harris and Coady Andrews and goalkeepers Cody Laurendi, C.J. Cochran and Jacob Lissek as players officially signed for the 2017 season.
