Sacramento Republic FC News Release

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento Republic FC will host FC Cincinnati in a friendly match on Saturday, Mar. 4. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Bonney Field. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.com.

"Cincinnati is a big club at our level that has a passionate following of fans and supporters similar to Sacramento," said Head Coach and Technical Director Paul Buckle. "It will be great to welcome them to Bonney Field. The match will be a good gauge of where we are at just prior to the regular season and a good test for our players. We are really looking forward to hosting them."

This will be the first time that Republic FC and FC Cincinnati play each other as both clubs did not play opposing conference clubs last season due to the expansion of USL and conference scheduling. FC Cincinnati defender Harrison Delbridge will face his former club for the first time since the 2015 season. Delbridge was part of Republic FC's 2014 USL Championship roster.

FC Cincinnati played their first USL season in 2016, going 16-6-8 in the regular season, finishing a single win short of Republic FC's expansion franchise record of 17 wins. FC Cincinnati finished third in the Eastern Conference during the regular season, but were eliminated from the USL Cup Playoffs in the first round by the Charleston Battery. FC Cincinnati, much like Republic FC, broke multiple USL attendance records in their inaugural season including a single-match attendance record of 24,376.

Tickets for the match will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19 via Ticketmaster.com. Tickets start at $20 (not including fees). The match will be one of several friendlies for Republic FC in the 2017 preseason. Additional dates and opponents to be announced. For more information, visit SacRepublicFC.com
