Energy FC Holds First Place Louisville to Scoreless Draw

OKC Energy FC News Release
A defensive battle against first place Louisville City FC ended 0-0, as Energy FC kept a clean sheet against the second-highest scoring team in the USL Championship Sunday night at Taft Stadium.
On a scorching hot evening at Taft Stadium, the sides were unable to get much of anything going in the first half. Zach Ellis-Hayden and Jaime Chavez had decent looks at goal, as did the visitors on a couple of occasions. Resolute defending, including a last-ditch block from Mitch Osmond and goal line clearance from Conor Donovan kept the game scoreless at the break, however.
The second half proved to be similar to the first with neither attack able to break down the other's defense. Each team had a few opportunities, with second-half substitute Seyi Adekoya nearly finding a winner with the last kick of the game, but his volley missed high.
Energy FC moves up to 23 points and remains in 6th place in the Central Division.
The Greens are back home at Taft Stadium next Sunday, August 29 at 5 p.m. CT against Rio Grande Valley FC Toros. Tickets are available at energyfc.com/august29.
