Corpus Christi Hooks News Release
FRISCO - Hooks right-hander Jimmy Endersby is the Texas Player of the Week for June 20-26, Minor League Baseball announced Monday.
Endersby blanked the Amarillo Sod Poodles over a career-best seven innings Friday, June 24. He struck out a season-best eight batters against three hits without issuing a walk in the longest outing by a Hooks pitcher this season. Corpus Christi won the game in walk-off fashion, 4-3.
Endersby ranks third in the Texas League in both ERA (2.78) and opponent batting average (.212). The 23-year-old from Anaheim, CA leads the Hooks by fashioning six outings of five innings or more.
Endersby owns a 3.14 ERA in 30 career appearances for Corpus Christi, with 14 outings (11 starts) coming this season.
The Cal State Fullerton and Concordia University (Irvine, CA) product has permitted two earned runs or less in all but three of his 2022 assignments.
Endersby is the second Hook to take home a weekly award this year. Enmanuel Valdez, the Texas League Player of the Month for May, was selected as the circuit's top hitter May 16-22.
