Emeralds Shine a Light on Sasquatch

August 18, 2016 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Eugene Emeralds News Release

the Eugene Emeralds will be honoring one of the most mysterious figures in Pacific Northwest Lore, Sasquatch. The hairy beast has been spotted all over the region for hundreds of years. Native People tell stories of living alongside Sasquatch. Some people claim he is friendly, some people claim he is a menace. For Sasquatch Awareness Night at PK Park the Emeralds will explore all aspects of the elusive Hominid.

This is the first year that the Emeralds have dedicated a night to Sasquatch, who inspired the Emeralds new logos and has served as the Rally Squatch since 2013. There will be Sasquatch experts on hand from Bigfootology.org, Tillamook Forest Research Group and American Primate Conservancy with Sasquatch finding equipment, evidence collected in the field and real life stories of Sasquatch encounters.

The Ems will raffle off ten signed copies of "The Oregon Bigfoot Highway" authored by Joe Beelart and Cliff Olson. There will also be Sasquatch trivia and film of sightings played on the video board.

Kendall has partnered with the Eugene Emeralds to present the Kendall Community Spotlight, a showcase of local nonprofit companies in Lane County. On August 19, the Red Cross is being honored as the Kendall Community Spotlight.

The Boy Scouts will also be on hand. They are having their annual campout on the field at PK Park after the game.
