Elliott White Returns to Reading for 2012 Season

Reading, Pa. (October 26, 2011) -The Reading Express are excited to announce that Elliott White will be returning to the team for the 2012 season. White first captured Express fans' attention during the April 1 game against the rival Lehigh Valley Steelhawks at the Sovereign Center. He scorched the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks for four touchdowns, and picked up that week's IFL Special Teams Player of the Week accolade.
In helping the Express edge the Steelhawks that night, White averaged more than 20 yards per return, tallying 212 total yards on ten returns. One of those returns was a 54-yard scamper for what would be the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
"We, as an organization are very excited to have Elliott back this season," said Mark Steinmeyer, head coach of the Reading Express. "He brings leadership and experience to our team. Elliott burst on the scene last year against the Steelhawks, but we played against him two years ago in New Jersey and he almost won the game single handedly."
After solidifying his role with the team, White would continue to contribute to the offensive unit throughout the remainder of the season. On the season, the Widener University grad posted 203 yards on the ground with five rushing touchdowns. He also pulled down 21 receptions, three for scores.
The Reading Express are one of the most established franchises in indoor football. In six full seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 73-27 with five division championships, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In 2011, Reading began play as a new member of the Indoor Football League and captured the league's Atlantic Division title. The team plays on The Reading Hospital Medical Group Field at Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa.
