Fort Collins, CO - The Colorado Ice are proud to announce the signing of CJ Lovett. This past season Lovett played in 8 games for the Wichita Wild; accumulating 26 tackles, 3 interceptions, 6 pass break ups, and 1 touchdown.
Lovett is a 6'0", 195 lb defensive back from Fort Hays State University, who was rated as the 81st best cornerback prospect for the 2010 draft class. Lovett spent his final two seasons at FHSU where he accumulated 82 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 7 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery, 14 pass break ups, 1 forced fumble, and 1 touchdown. Lovett was also a major threat on special teams as he had 989 return yards and 5 touchdowns on only 38 returns.
Lovett's talents were recognized after his senior season as he earned an opportunity to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Before FHSU, Lovett spent time at the University of Northern Colorado.
