Elks Take Game Two from Cowlitz

The Bend Elks defeated the Cowlitz Black Bears by a score of 4-2 Wednesday evening at Story Field in Longview. Jordan Wilcox (1-1 ) started for the Elks and pitched 7 complete innings, giving up 2 earned runs while striking out 8 Black Bears and giving only one walk. Wilcox took the win and now has a 1-1 record with a 2.08 ERA. Reliever Aaron Leasher came in to start the 8th inning and gave up only 2 hits while walking one Bear and striking out 3 for his first save of the season. One the offensive side of the field, Cooper Hummel was tonights hot hitting batter,knocking 3 hits including an rbi and a run scored.The final game of the three game series is set for Thursday night from Story Field in Longview as the Elks go for a sweep the Black Bears. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM.
Friday, the 4-1 Elks return to the friendly confines of Vince Genna Stadium to take on the Victoria Harbour Cats for a 3 game series through the weekend, first pitch at 6:35 PM. All the action, home and away, can be heard with Tris Reisfar calling all the action at at 90.1 FM in the ballpark and streaming at bendelks.com.
