
Elks Lose Series to Kitsap

The Bend Elks lost the final game of the 3 game series against the Kitsap Blue Jackets 4-3 at Genna Wednesday Night. The Elks dropped 2 of 3 games to the the Blue Jackets to lose the series. Patrick Mc Guff started for the Elks and went 7 1/3 innings giving up 3 runs on 4 hits. He stuck out Kitsap batters 11 times while only walking 2. McGuff regains the lead in strikeouts in the WCL with 64 K's for the season. For his efforts McGuff gets a no decision and his record remains at 7-1 for the season. Harrison Pyatt came in to relieve the starter in the 7th and gave up the go ahead run in the top of the 9th and takes his first loss of the season. He is now 4-1 for 2015.
The real story Wednesday was the Elks inability to move runners and giving little run support to their starting pitcher. While the Elks knocked 12 hits against Kitsap pitching, they left 16 runners on base, leaving bases loaded 3 times. Over the last week the Elks team batting average has dropped to .256 and the team ERA has climbed to 5.22 over that same period of time.
The Elks take Thursday off before returning to action Friday night at Genna to host the Klamath Falls Gems for the final series of the 2015 season. The Elks clinched the South Division and are waiting to see who they will face for the first round of the playoffs that will start on Tuesday.
Fridays game against K-Falls is set to start at 6:35 with The Elks Pregame Show with Elks Head Coach Trey Watt and voice the Elks Tris Reisfar starting the broadcast at 6:15.
