The Bend Elks get their first road win Wednesday evening in Bremerton, Washington by defeating the Kitsap Blue Jackets by a score of 9-6. Kitsap starting pitcher, Jerome Byndloss faced 11 Elks batters in the second inning giving up 5 earned runs. That was enough for Byndloss to take the loss. Elks bats came alive putting up 15 hits while facing 4 Blue Jacket pitchers. Taking the win was Elks starting pitcher Luke Schneider who threw 5 innings, giving up 2 earned runs, striking out 2 while walking 2 opponents. Things got interesting in the bottom of the 9th when Louis Cohen took the mound and and gave up 2 runs, then loaded the bases with the go ahead run before striking out the final Kitsap batter. The Elks will play the final game, and the rubber match, against Kitsap Thursday at 6:35 before heading out to Bellingham for a three game set.
