July 29, 2012 - West Coast League (WCL)
Bend Elks News Release
The Bend Elks scored in the top of the 1st against the Bellingham Bells on Sunday, but that was all that they would manage, as they fell to the Bellingham Bells 8-1 from Joe martin Field.
In the top of the 1st inning, Bo Walter drew a 2 out walk, and scored on an RBI double from Will Sparks to give the Elks the early 1-0 lead.
That would be all of the runs the Elks would manage on Sunday as the Bellingham Bells scored 5 runs in the 2nd inning on 6 hits off of Elks starter Kyle Doyle, who would last only 1 and 2/3 of an inning. The Bells would also score 3 runs in the 6th inning to give the Bells their final 8-1 margin.
The Elks will be off Monday before returning to action on Tuesday for a double header against the Cowlitz Black Bears beginning at 4 p.m.
