Bend Elks News Release

It was Deja Vu for the Bend Elks at Vince Genna Stadium on Friday, just like they did in Medford a weekend ago, the Elks took game 2 of the 3 game series from the Rogues before falling flat and losing the finale of the 3 game series, as Bend fell to Medford 10-4.

The Bend Elks pitching staff struggled early with command as starter Hunter Raley was charged with the loss, lasting only 1/3 of an inning in the start, giving up 3 runs on 3 hits while walking two. Raley was one of 7 pitchers for the Bend on Friday as the Elks gave up 3 in the 1st, 3 in the 2nd, and 4 runs in the 3rd inning as they cruised to the victory. The bright spot for the Bend Elks on the mound was the performance of reliever Xavier Borde, who pitched 2 scoreless innings for the Bend Elks, giving up only 1 hit while striking out 5.

Offensively for Bend (20-13), Keach Ballard went 2-4 with an RBI double, Tyler Servais added 2 hits and drove in a run, but it was far from enough for Bend, who simply had no answer for the strong offensive showing from the Rogues (13-17), who earned a season series victory with the win Friday, taking 4 of 6 games from the Bend Elks in 2013.

The Bend Elks will be in non-league action over the weekend as they start a 2 game series with the San Francisco Seals on Saturday, first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
