Bend Elks News Release
The Bend Elks took out the Victoria Harbour Cats 4-3 Monday evening in the first of a 3 game series in rainy Victoria, British Columbia.
Elk right fielder Billy King scored 3 of the 4 Bend runs on the evening, and DH Grant Newton had 3 hits and 2 RBI's. Bend starting pitcher J.T. Kaul took the win after giving up 6 hits,including a 2 run home run to Gabe Clark in the 6th, before handing things over to Jordan Wilcox. Wilcox pitched a perfect 7th, allowing no Cats to reach base. Kevin Sheets finished the game on the mound throwing 2 innings, giving up 3 hits and a run while striking out 4 to get his second save of the season. Elks combined pitching did not walk as single Harbour Cat.
