
Elks drop Game 2 in 10 innings 3-2

Jason Wilson pitched 6 solid innings of baseball for the Bend Elks tonight. Problem was he was pulled in the 7th on a pitch count and the Gems took advantage scoring on a hit batter to lead off the 7th, a past ball moved the runner to 2nd and then a 2 base throwing error. In the 10th the Gems got to Elk reliever Stephen Ostapek with a lead off double off the wall by Nick Miller followed by a game winning base hit by Bo Cornish for the extra inning win.
Wilson gave up 4 hits, struck out 6 and walked one. The Gems scored an unearned run in the 1st on a misplayed ball in right field. The Elks tied the score 1-1 in the 4th on a triple by Loren Gardner-Young and an RBI ground out by Kyle Buchanan. The Elks scored in the 5th on a single by Grant Mascolo, a double by Tyler Christian and an RBI ground out by Derek Blankenship. The final game of the 3 game series is at 6:05 Sunday night.
