
Elks Drop Another Game to Victoria

The Bend Elks dropped their sixth straight game Saturday night to the Victoria Harbour Cats by a score of 4-1. Elks starting pitcher Adrain Martinez took the loss after tossing 5 innings, giving up 3 earned runs while walking 3 and striking out 3. Errors continue to hurt the Elks as todays four errors led to yet another unearned run for the Bend pitching staff. At the plate, the Elks managed to tally 9 hits while leaving 7 Elks runners on base. Highlights on the offense were from Jon Brooks and Nick Lopes, both had 3 hits. Coach Marty Hunter was tossed in the 7th inning by first base umpire Brad Magee after arguing a close call at first base after right fielder Billy King appeared to beat the throw from second. Victoria starter Alex Rogers got the win after throwing 7 complete innings, striking out 3 while only walking 2 Elks batters. The final game of the three game series with Victoria continues Sunday before the Elks head out on a 9 game road trip, their longest of the season. Sunday is Fathers Day and Dad's get in free to the park with the kids. Sunday's game time is 5:05 PM.
