PORTLAND, Jan. 24, 2007 - Portland LumberJax All-Stars Dallas Eliuk, Ryan Sharp and mascot Jaxon will be partaking in 98.7 KUPL's Bowling with Bubba #5 on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007 from 2-5 p.m. The fifth annual charity event will take place at AMF Cascade Lanes (located at 2700 NE 82nd Ave.) and helps raise money for Shiners Hospitals for Children.

"I'm looking forward to meeting new potential Jax fans," Eliuk said about the upcoming event. "I can't wait to watch Sharpie [Ryan Sharp] break all gutter-ball records."

Last year Eliuk and Brodie Merrill were two of the 200 bowlers that took part in the Bowling with Bubba event. KUPL expects the same amount of bowlers this year along with roughly 150 spectators. Eleven celebrities will bowl with Rich "Bubba" Taylor KUPL's radio jockey to support Shiners Hospitals for Children.

"New Country 98.7 KUPL is excited to join forces with local celebrities to raise funds for such a worthy cause," said Teresa Stas, KUPL's Assistant Promotions Director. "This is such a unique and exciting event that helps a wonderful children's charity. We are lucky to have a great bunch of celebrity bowlers this year."

Eliuk and Sharp will join the Portland Timbers' Garret Marcum and Tom Poltl as well as 2000 Olympic Silver medalist and UFC veteran Matt "The Law" Lindland. Members of the media are also getting involved in the cause. Jeff Gianola and Tim Joyce will be representing KOIN 6 News while Drew Carney will be bowling for KGW. Mrs. Oregon 2007 Kimberly Takla and Broken Bow country recording artist Craig Morgan will be part of the event as well. Finally, it wouldn't be exciting with out a little humor from Jaxon and the Winterhawks' mascot Tom-A-Hawk, who will both be attempting to out-bowl the competition.

"I am so proud of this event, and the support that it brings to Shriners Hospitals for Children," said KUPL's Bubba.
