Elgin set to return to IBL for 2008 season
February 4, 2008 - International Basketball League (IBL)
Elgin Racers News Release
Elgin, IL-The Elgin Racers have announced that they will return to the IBL in 2008, which will mark the team's third season in the league. The Racers had initially intended to skip the 2008 season and return in 2009, but Racers' owner Bob Fischer ultimately decided the team would play this season.
IBL Commissioner Mikal Duilio - "Because minor league basketball is such a tough industry to compete in, we have been supportive of some of our owners taking a year off to revamp their marketing efforts and get their financial situation in order. It looked as though Elgin might be exploring that route, but the Racers are committed to playing in 2008. This is great for the league because Elgin is a great team and Bob is a great owner."
The Racers' 2008 schedule will be released later this week.
