Racers Add Former Terrapin Guard To 2008 Roster

Elgin, IL - Former Maryland Terrapin guard, Parrish Brown has signed with the Elgin Racers. Brown, a 6'1 combo guard, played two years at Maryland after two seasons of Junior College ball in the Chicago area.

During the 2004-2005 season at Kennedy King JC, Brown averaged 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. He was rated a Top 25 JC prospect by several scouting services. At Maryland, Brown played both guard positions, and was one of the team leaders in free throw percentage at 86%. During Brown's senior year, the Terps finished 25-9 advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. This past winter, Brown played in Germany for BG Suepark and averaged 30 points, 5 assists, and 6 rebounds per game.

Elgin Racers President/Head Coach Michael Murphy on the addition of Brown: "The organization is very excited that Parrish will be wearing a Racer jersey for us this spring. He has an outstanding background and has played against the best competition the college game has to offer. We are thrilled to have an ACC caliber player on our roster. We expect him to be a force on both ends of the floor."

The Racers open their third IBL season with a trip to the Genesis Center in Indiana to take on the Gary Steelheads. The Racers' home opener is on Saturday, May 10 against the Holland Blast.
